  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Choose Edit Habits.

For Windows:

  1. You can locate the Focus Bear icon on the taskbar.
  2. Click on it, then click "Preferences".
  3. Go to “Edit Habits”.

Start and Finish Times

Creating a balanced routine is key to a productive and fulfilling day, and with Focus Bear, you have the tools to tailor your schedule to suit your needs.

Set your morning and evening routine start times to match your preferences. Define how long you'd like your breaks to be, giving yourself moments to recharge during the day.

Wake Up Time:

Your wake-up time is the earliest moment you plan to begin your morning routine. The morning routine window opens after 16:00, offering flexibility. Before 06:30, your computer locks to encourage a good night's sleep, but emergency unlocks are available.

Time You Finish Work:

After your workday, let Focus Bear guide you through your evening routine, taking control of your devices. While emergency unlocks are possible, it's recommended to minimize distractions during this wind-down period.

Break Frequency:

Incorporate micro breaks of 30 to 90 seconds for stretching, hydration, and a mindful breath. These brief pauses help prevent neck pain and screen-induced headaches. Include physical activities like stretching or quick pushups to maintain your energy levels.

Wind Down Time:

During wind-down time, Focus Bear prompts only high-priority activities, ensuring a purposeful and effective transition to relaxation.
.

Adding activities to your Routines and Breaks

  1. Select the tab for which you want to add activities to (Morning Routine, Evening Routine, Micro Breaks).‍ Then click the “+” sign to add a new activity.
  2. In the empty box that appears at the bottom, type in the name of the activity. Then enter the time duration for how long this activity will take.
  3. Uncheck "Use Timer" if you don't want this to be a timed activity. You can also reorder the activities. Just click and hold the dots on the left, then drag the activity up or down to its desired position.

Advanced Settings for Activities

Timing:

Define the activity's priority—whether it's optional or essential—and specify the days of the week for its occurrence.

You can define the priority of your activities by labeling them as either 'Must Do' or 'Optional.' This allows you to organize tasks based on their importance within your daily routine.

Must Do: If an activity is essential and needs to be completed regularly, you can label it as 'Must Do.' After the wind-down time, you'll get a reminder to do these important tasks, making sure they're done, even if you haven't finished everything else in your routine.

Optional: For tasks that are not mandatory but can be included based on your availability and preference, label them as 'Optional'. These tasks won't be prompted after the wind-down time, providing you with flexibility to complete them based on your schedule and priorities.

YouTube Videos:

Copy and paste YouTube URLs here to show videos during the activity. You may include several videos, and they will be shown at random each time the activity runs.

Note: Ensure the total duration of added videos equals or exceeds the set time duration for the activity to cover the entire session as a comprehensive demo.

Allowed Apps:

Customize your app and website usage during activities, and establish a 'Guilt-Free Play' activity for unrestricted access to all apps and websites. If you decide to block a URL during the day, you can save it for later by using the Show Guilt-Free Play popup. When you engage in a habit, the popup will display the saved list for your convenience.

Log Data:

Track metrics such as the number of pushups or your mood rating, and jot down notes during or after each activity.

You can set minimum and maximum values for logged data and add descriptions for each entry.

Advanced:

Activity Type: Specify whether your routine involves an activity type, 'None,' or a 'Checklist.'
Images and Instructions: Enhance your habit with visuals and clear instructions.
Move to Different Routine: Effortlessly relocate activities between routines.
Duplicate Activity: Make a quick copy for added convenience.
